The Parkwood Elementary PTA​:

​

Supports the Administration, Teaching & Support Staff by strengthening relationships and building community.

​

Supports Teachers by providing food and snacks for meetings and trainings; stocking workrooms with snacks and beverages; and shopping for classroom supplies and other materials.

​

Supports the local community through Holiday Gift Giving, providing holiday gifts to children.

​

Through its partnership with the Parktown Food Hub & the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC, supports the local community through food distribution to hundreds of families in need.

​

Supports DPS Teachers & Staff through the Teacher's Food Pantry.

​​

Supports DPS Students through the Welcome Back Backpack Giveaway, providing new backpacks filled much needed school supplies.

We are a National PTA School of Excellence!

​

National PTA School of Excellence is a recognition program that supports and celebrates partnerships between PTAs and schools to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being for all students. the program involves a year-long commitment to identifying and implementing an action plan for school improvement based on PTA's National Standards for Family-School Partnerships and Transformative Family Engagement.

​

Those that exhibit improvement are honored as National PTA Schools of Excellence, a distinction that spans two years. Honorees receive celebration tools and automatic consideration for the Phoebe Apperson Hearst Award and a $2,000 grant for their school.
